Currently, Intel’s desktop processors feature the NPU 3, introduced with “Arrow Lake-S” and “Meteor Lake” in 2023, which offers 11.5 INT8 TOPS. The next step up, NPU 5, is planned for the “Panther Lake” series expected in early 2026, with up to 50 TOPS designed for Copilot+ AI PCs.
