AMD has reduced the official MSRP of the Radeon RX 7900 XT graphics card to $749, down from its original price of $899. According to TweakTown, the street price is even lower, with certain custom-design RX 7900 XT cards selling for as low as $710 on Newegg. This puts the RX 7900 XT in direct competition with overclocked NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER graphics cards, remaining stocks of the recently retired GeForce RTX 4070 Ti, and potentially even sales before the release of the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER on January 24. The ASRock RX 7900 XT Phantom Gaming and XFX RX 7900 XT Merc 319 are among the better custom designs available at this price point, originally launching at prices similar to the PowerColor Hellhound. The PowerColor RX 7900 XT Hellhound and Sapphire RX 7900 XT Pulse OC are also available at $720.
The Radeon RX 7900 XT is a powerful high-end GPU that AMD classifies as capable of 4K Ultra HD gaming with maximum settings. It is based on the "Navi 31" chiplet GPU and features 84 RDNA3 compute units, which equates to 5,376 stream processors, 168 AI accelerators, 84 Ray accelerators, 336 TMUs, and 192 ROPs. The standout feature of this card is its memory sub-system, which includes 80 MB of Infinity Cache and 20 GB of 20 Gbps GDDR6 memory. The memory is connected via a 320-bit wide memory bus, providing 800 GB/s of bandwidth, making it ideal for 4K gaming or use with creator or AI applications.
