MSI Releases UEFI Firmware Updates for Socket AM5 Motherboards
MSI has started to release UEFI firmware updates for its Socket AM5 motherboard lineup, featuring the latest AMD AGESA 1.2.0.3F microcode. This new version of AGESA brings support for upcoming processor SKUs, such as the Ryzen 9000F series and the Ryzen 9000G series desktop APUs.
The Ryzen 9000F series processors are based on the "Granite Ridge" architecture and come with integrated graphics disabled. On the other hand, the Ryzen 9000G series APUs are expected to be built on the 4 nm "Krackan Point" silicon, featuring a 12-core CPU (4x "Zen 5" + 8x "Zen 5c"), a powerful iGPU based on RDNA 3.5 graphics architecture with up to 16 compute units, and the Ryzen AI XDNA 2 NPU capable of 50 AI TOPS.
In addition to processor support, AGESA 1.2.0.3F also enables a platform maximum memory support of 256 GB using four 64 GB DIMMs (2 DIMMs per channel). The firmware includes security vulnerability mitigations introduced with AGESA 1.2.0.3 and various overclocking stability improvements.
