ASUS Unveils New Gaming Monitor

ASUS has recently revealed details about its upcoming gaming monitor, the ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM. This monitor will compete with the MSI MPG272URX as the first 27-inch 4K 240 Hz display on the market.

The PG27UCDM features a 26.5-inch panel utilizing ASUS' 4th gen QD-OLED technology, which the company claims offers a longer lifespan compared to previous OLED panels. The panel boasts impressive specs such as a 0.03 ms response time, peak brightness of 1,000 cd/m², 99% DCI-P3 color space coverage, and VESA DisplayHDR 400 True Black support. It also includes features like AMD FreeSync Premium Pro and NVIDIA G-Sync compatibility, as well as ASUS-specific gaming features like ELMB, GameFast Input Technology, Shadow Boost, and DisplayWidget.

Connectivity options include a DisplayPort 2.1 port with UHBR20 (80 Gbps) support, a USB Type-C with DP-Alt mode and USB PD up to 90 W, and two HDMI 2.1 ports. Additionally, there is a three-port USB 3.2 Gen 1 (5 Gbps) hub, a headphone jack, and a presumed USB Type-B input for KVM support.

The monitor stand offers tilt, swivel, pivot, and height adjustment, along with ASUS' Aura Sync lighting and a tripod mount. ASUS estimates a power consumption of around 80 Watts, excluding USB PD. The monitor will come bundled with a DisplayPort 2.1 DP80 cable.

Pricing details for the ROG Swift OLED PG27UCDM have not been announced, but it is expected to be priced above US$1,000.
