ASUS recently shared a sneak peek of their upcoming AMD AM5 motherboards, expected to feature the B850 and B840 chipsets. According to a post on Facebook, these motherboards are set to launch in the next couple of weeks. The boards will likely be showcased at CES, starting on January 7th. While the image is obscured, it's evident that ASUS will offer various SKUs under their sub-brands like TUF Gaming and ROG.
From what we can discern, there will be at least one Mini-ITX board and one micro-ATX board, with the latter being part of the TUF Gaming lineup. Despite our attempts to enhance the image, ASUS has effectively concealed any model names or details, making it challenging to decipher the text. Although specific features are not clearly visible, it appears that ASUS will introduce some high-end B850 boards, as indicated by the presence of three ROG Strix SKUs.
The question remains whether there is a demand for these boards, given that the B850 chipset is similar to the B650E chipset, with the main difference being the optional PCIe 5.0 support for M.2 slots and the absence of USB4, unlike its X870 counterpart.
