It comes as no surprise that following the release of the desktop RTX 50X0-series cards, laptop variants will soon be available. Several listings for upcoming gaming laptops have already surfaced online, revealing some intriguing information. The leaked listings suggest that both AMD and Intel will be partnering with Blackwell, featuring Intel's Arrow Lake-HX and the Ryzen 7000HX-series from Team Red - surprising many who were expecting the Ryzen 9000HX to be released sooner. The listings also provide details on other specifications, such as the display, which includes the typical options of mini LED and OLED panels.
One of the leaked laptops is the ROG Strix Scar 18, which will be equipped with a Core Ultra 9 285HX "Arrow Lake-HX" CPU, paired with either an RTX 5080 or an RTX 5090 GPU. Unfortunately, the RTX 5090 will only have 16 GB of VRAM, half of what its desktop counterpart offers. The RTX 5080 will also come with 16 GB of VRAM, which is a relief. Another leaked laptop, the Strix 16, will feature either an RTX 5070 Ti or an RTX 5060 GPU with 12 GB and 8 GB of VRAM respectively. Lower-tier laptops will also include the entry-level RTX 5050 with 8 GB of VRAM, all utilizing the new GDDR7 spec. For the full-resolution image of the leaked listings, click here.
