Dynabook Introduces the Protégé X30W
Dynabook has unveiled the Protégé X30W, featuring an Intel Core Ultra 7 165H processor. While this may not seem impressive at first, a closer look reveals that the laptop weighs only 989 grams, or about 2.2 lbs. Additionally, the device is a convertible, allowing for 360° rotation to transform into a tablet.
Aside from its lightweight design, the laptop's standout feature is its Core Ultra 7 165H processor, boasting 6 performance cores and 8 efficiency cores for a total of 14 cores and 22 threads. The 8-core Arc iGPU handles graphics, delivering performance comparable to the RTX 2050 Mobile in certain scenarios. The system also offers up to 32 GB of DDR5-5200 memory and up to a 2 TB PCIe Gen 4 SSD.
Interestingly, Dynabook decided to refresh the laptop shortly before CES 2025, where new Core Ultra 200H "Arrow Lake" and Core 200H "Raptor Lake" mobile chips are expected. Despite this, the Protégé X30W features a 13.3-inch IPS 1080p touchscreen display, a variety of ports, and a 53 Wh battery. The laptop will be available for purchase in the US at a price of $1,399, which is considered relatively high.
