ASUS Expands Gaming Console Lineup with ROG Z13 Flow

ASUS is increasing its focus on gaming consoles and PC systems designed to mimic consoles. In 2023, the company unveiled the first ROG Z13 Flow, a gaming tablet featuring a 13th Gen Core "Raptor Lake" processor and mid-tier RTX 40-series "Ada" discrete mobile GPU. The 2025 version of the ROG Z13 Flow is a 13-inch, 16:10 tablet with a built-in kickstand. Users have the option to use it as a handheld device with touch controls or place it on a surface and utilize traditional gaming peripherals like a keyboard and mouse or a game controller. The device is designed to deliver a high-quality gaming experience, so it comes equipped with top-of-the-line components.

Reports suggest that the 2025 ASUS ROG Z13 Flow will feature AMD's upcoming "Strix Halo" processor, which boasts up to 16 "Zen 5" CPU cores, an oversized iGPU with 40 RDNA 3.5 compute units (2,560 stream processors), a 256-bit LPDDR5 memory interface, and a 50 TOPS-class NPU to meet Copilot+ AI PC standards. This processor aligns with the hardware requirements of the ROG Z13 Flow and eliminates the need for a discrete GPU, allowing ASUS to reduce the size of the mainboard. The power management of the "Strix Halo" processor allocates approximately 30 W to the CPU and SoC, and around 80 W to the iGPU. The cooling system is specifically designed for the "Strix Halo" chip, as there are no other major chips on the device (the SoC handles all chipset functions without the need for an FCH).
