The GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, which features the AD102 GPU, was initially rumored to be exclusive to Asia. However, it has now been confirmed that this model will be available worldwide. This news comes as the GIGABYTE RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Windforce MAX OC 16 GB, the first model to have this configuration, has been listed on a German online retailer, specifically at Mindfactory. Previously, the regular GIGABYTE RTX 4070 Ti SUPER Windforce model used the AD103-275 GPU SKU, but the "MAX" variant now comes with the AD102-225 GPU SKU. Priced at over 950 Euros, it comes at a premium compared to the standard Windforce model. The "MAX" version not only features a different GPU but also has an official 30 MHz higher clock speed. Additionally, the Max variant includes a more robust cooling system typically seen in the GeForce RTX 4080/4090 class, a departure from the smaller RTX 4070 Ti design used in the SUPER variant with the AD103 GPU.
While the differences in performance and power consumption between the AD102 and AD103 versions may be minimal for most users, the inclusion of larger cooling systems in many custom designs could be advantageous. This improved thermal management may be appealing to enthusiasts and overclockers who want to push their graphics cards to their limits. The regular AD103 card measures 261x126x50 mm, while the MAX model with the AD102 and beefier coolers measures 331x136x55.5 mm. Overclockers may be able to further enhance the performance of this card, and we are eager to see what the AD102-225 silicon on the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER platform will deliver.
