As we approach the launch of AMD's upcoming 9000-series Ryzen processors, local retailers have already begun offering pre-orders for the new CPUs. This gives us a preview of the expected pricing. The first retailer in Europe to do so is Funtech, a Slovenian retailer, which has listed all four SKUs on its website. For those unfamiliar with European pricing, Slovenia has a VAT or sales tax rate of 22 percent, resulting in higher prices compared to the US and other countries. By comparing the prices of AMD's current CPUs sold by Funtech, we can estimate the cost difference for the new CPUs.
Starting from the lower end, the Ryzen 5 9600X is priced at €310 (US$332), while the Ryzen 7 7600X is listed at €212. The Ryzen 7 9700X is priced at €400 (US$429), and the Ryzen 7 7700X is available for €305. Moving on to the higher-end models, the Ryzen 9 9900X is listed at €500 (US$536) with the Ryzen 9 7900X priced at €392. Lastly, the Ryzen 9 9950X is listed at €660 (US$707), compared to €510 for the Ryzen 9 7950X. These prices align with earlier leaked pricing from the Philippines. When the VAT is excluded, the prices are close to the proposed MSRP by various sources over the past few months, or even slightly lower. It appears that AMD is not planning to increase the MSRP compared to the 7000-series Ryzen processors.
