Graphics Card Modders from Brazil
TecLab and Paulo Gomes, the renowned graphics card modders from Brazil, have once again showcased their skills with a daring VGA mod. Known for their video memory replacement mods that enhance the performance of graphics cards, the duo recently upgraded an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER graphics card with a memory boost.
The RTX 4070 Ti SUPER comes with 16 GB of 21 Gbps GDDR6X memory by default, but TecLab and Paulo Gomes performed memory chip replacement mods to achieve memory speeds between 24 Gbps and 26 Gbps. This upgrade allowed the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER to outperform the RTX 4080, despite having fewer shaders and other key components.
In the Unigine Superposition 8K benchmark, a stock GeForce RTX 4080 scores 8525 points, while a Manli RTX 4070 Ti SUPER achieves 7212 points due to its lower shader count and slower memory speed. However, after the memory speed mod and GPU overclocking, Paulo Gomes reached an impressive 8870 points with the RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, surpassing the RTX 4080.
At TecLab, their Galax-branded RTX 4070 Ti SUPER initially scored 7028 points at stock speeds. After implementing a 26 Gbps memory speed mod and GPU overclocking, they achieved a remarkable 9133 points, approaching the performance of an RTX 4080 SUPER with its maxed-out "AD103" ASIC and 80 SM.
